Happy Easter 2011

We had a wonderful Easter. We hope that you as well had a wonderful Easter. We are so grateful to a Savior who suffered bled and died that we might be able to repent and someday return home to a loving father in heaven. We are grateful to have the knowledge that because of Christ we can be together forever. I had taken so many pictures and edited them only to have to many to narrow down so you get a lot. Hope you enjoy!
The problem of not having someone behind the camera is that the kids don't know when to smile. Next time maybe my husband and I should have straight faces and them we can have an old fashioned photograph. I still love the looks on their faces though.
Beautiful girl!
Pictures with daddy my daughter was happy to do so my son was done since I started with him and we were outside. He just wanted to play.
Handsome boy!

Mommy/daughter date party

One friend that lives close by planned a Mommy daughter date night. We did all the girly things. Hair, nails, jewelry, food and watched Tangled. My friend did so much work to make this a fun night. I am amazed at her talents. Mostly the ability to plan a fun night for a bunch of little girls and mommies alike. She even decorated her home really cute for this as well. All we had to do was bring a treat to share.

When we walked in this is what we saw. She had made huge tissue flowers and hung them from her ceiling. It was very pretty.
Then she had stations here is how she set up the nail station.
These are the silk flower hair clips and ponytail holders she made. She said that she stayed up till 1 in the morning making these. She is amazing.
My little girl eating some food while I did her hair. She enjoyed her cucumber sandwich and her chips and salsa.
Once she was done eating she got to do my hair. She used the detangler in my hair. Ok well one spot of my hair was soaked. But she felt so big doing it.
Then we did each others nails. I let her do some stickers and clear nail polish on me.
Here she is making a bracelet for me. I wore it the next day to church which made her very happy.
All the little girls brought their favorite pillow to use while watching a movie. It was a large pillow pet farm. All the moms had a good laugh.
Here we are at the end of the night. I think she had fun. She is wearing the necklace and bracelet I made for her. And I am wearing her bracelet she made for me, although you can only see a few beads. I love this girl.

Who knew Kite Flying could be so Dangerous

So Thursday it was a nice windy day. I thought about the kites that we haven't used in a while and thought it would be fun to fly a kite and hopefully entertain my kids and the neighbors kids till daddies came home. Well at one point I was in the small street in front of my house flying a kite and my son thought it would be fun to throw a rubber bouncy ball into the road. In an effort to keep him from running into the road after it I tried to pull the kite in while grabbing the ball. In the process of walking to the ball I rolled my ankle and heard a snap. I thought at the time that I had sprained it but was in shock and not able to process that it might be something more. I crawled out the road and laid in the grass till my husband came home and my neighbor watched the kids so I didn't have to worry about them. When my husband came home he took me to the local Instacare and they did an x-ray. Turns out what I thought was a sprain was a slightly displaced fracture of the fibula bone. I know you ask how can you break your leg from walking. Apparently the very bottom can be pulled so hard by the stretched ligaments and tendons that it will break the bone. So now I am at the mercy of great friends who are here to help me with daily stuff when my husband is at work. I have been blessed by wonderful friends. But I won't lie, my pride is taking a fairly big beating in the process. I never am very good at asking for help and my friends are as bossy as me when it comes to things like this. I am grateful for bossy friends that don't make me ask for help but just are there and love me. I am grateful for a great husband and a boss that let my husband leave work a half hour early to come home and help me. I am grateful that my husband knows how to take care of our kids and is willing to help keep the house up so that I don't have to stress about all the extra things on the floor because I can't pick them up. I am grateful for cute kids who give me lots of love to help me feel like a loved mommy and not just a useless one. I truly am blessed.
The X-ray. I am pointing to a very small but painful break.

Random Pictures from my Phone

So I decided to do just a random one.

Here is my son thinking he can play this big boy game. Or he just thought he was driving. Not sure which one.
This view makes me think of living back east. The town we live in has lots of trees.
Trying to see if her wingspan compares.
This was what I saw when I went to bed one night. Aren't they cute!
The next two are from a field trip my daughter went on to a farm for preschool.

Little Boy goes to the Dentist

So this was actually a while back. But it was that time when he was old enough to start getting the little man to the dentist and hoping that he would let the dentist take a peek. Well he was more than happy to look at whatever the dentist showed him and was happy to sit in the chair but he did not let the dentist see his teeth. Oh well. I haven't noticed any problems so I think we are good. Maybe at his next check up the dentist will get to look at his teeth. Our dentist has kids of his own and so he is very patient and offered for my son to come in with us and it will be a free check up. This will give the little guy a chance to be comfortable with dental care. So we'll just continue to brush his teeth.
When we take our kids to the dentist I want it to always be a positive thing. So we went to a bounce place that has lots of fun toys available to play on. I think this gives our kids a chance to always associate it with something good. He loved this little toy bike while we were there.
