Happy 4th of July and 3 month old pictures a little late.

So this year we went and visited with family and went to a balloon festival and pre-Parade show for the Fourth. We woke up at the early time of 5:30 AM so that we could get there in time to watch the balloons launch. That is early to begin with and with 2 children not much better. And since the last time I blogged my baby boy turned 3 months old. I can't believe how big he is getting.

So here my daughter is sharing her breakfast with her cousin. They give so much food there was no way that she would have eaten it all by herself.
Here are all the kids waiting for the parade to begin. And so not cooperating in sitting still for the picture. But I guess that what you get when the oldest is 8.
Our little family. Oh and I have to toot my own horn for a second because I am excited that it turned out so well. But the headband and flower barrette I made myself last week. The headband is crocheted and I have never been able to follow a pattern before and have it turn out. So when the headband worked out I was very excited.
My daughter pointing to the balloons in the sky trying to show her cousin.
Although he isn't smiling below I just thought that this looked very peaceful.
After we left the parade since mommy and the kids were very done; especially when the fire trucks came by with their horns, we thought that we would visit my husband Grandma. She seemed to enjoy holding the little man.
And well this picture below is what it looks like when your little girl is tired and had a very busy day even with a nap. Oh ya and when Daddy says there are no more sparklers.
These pictures below are the pictures I took of my son to show how handsome he is at 3 months old. Also there are a few pictures with my little girl as when because she loves to take pictures with her brother.
I had to add this one because they were holding hands and I thought it was very sweet.

What has happened in the last week?

OK so this week my son rolled. The first time he did it and I missed it. The second time I missed it. The third time I caught the last half of it. And the fourth time I finally got it on video. How is it that you can turn your head for a second and miss things? Especially since you try to capture it on video and well the first time trying to record, nothing. The second time nothing, but a disgruntled baby and the third time it takes 2 minutes. Seriously the Heavens should open and announce "Get the camera, Don't turn your head and when you put the baby down, he's gonna do something great." I know maybe that is a little much. But I think there are many moms out there that wish they could truly catch the first on video. As parents you just get excited, and don't want to miss a second. So below is the fourth try. I hope you enjoy. Like I said it took 2 minutes for it to happen so feel free to skip to the end. More precisely the last 1/2 a minute. Sorry editing is not my strong suit. And yes that is Dora playing in the background, my daughter's current favorite movie for the week.

The other funny thing is that I have a daughter with girl power written all over her personality. I call her my Tom boy Princess. She loves all girl things but is totally not afraid to get dirty or take care of things herself. We got visited by flying ants a few days ago and I was killing them all day and had my husband call the Exterminator. At one point my daughter runs to the bathroom to get tissue. Since my daughter loves to blow her own nose I thought nothing of it. Next thing I know she using the tissue to try and kill the ants herself. Wondering what she is doing I investigate. My daughter with her amazing eye sight who doesn't miss a thing helped me find about 8 flying ants which we killed. It makes me laugh because this is the same girl who sees a spider and before we can take care of it for her she say a mocking Ahhh! and stomps on the spider. No fear of bugs yet. May it stay that way.

Fathers Day!

This Father's Day we got to hold our own sacrament meeting by permission of our Bishop. That was a sweet experience for us. We watched Elder Hollands talk from the last conference and really felt the spirit strong from his testimony of the Savior. Then we had some BBQ Turkey for lunch at my husbands request. After which we called my Father and wished him a Happy Fathers Day. Then for dinner we headed to my in laws house to enjoy a dinner with my husbands family. Below is a 3 generation picture of my husband with his Dad and our son. They all share the same middle name which was originally inherited from my husbands Grandfather. I am so glad that they have this bond. I know that my son has great examples in all of these men that have preceded him. They all have shown great love for their families as well as love for their Father in Heaven. If he can grow to be like any of these men he will be a great man.

I also wanted to say how grateful I am for my own Father. I have learned a great deal about the Savior from him. I have also learned a lot about what it means to love from him. I hope that I can pass these lessons onto my children.

I am truly lucky to have all the great men in my life from good Fathers, a wonderful husband and inspiring brothers. They have all been there in different ways teaching me how to be a better person.

I am also truly thankful for a Father in Heaven who has been patient with me through my weaknesses. He has helped me avoid many obstacles in my life and has helped me navigate through difficult circumstances. I know he lives. I know that he sent his son to atone for my sins and I know that someday if I live as he would have me live that I will return to him again. I long for that day and truly hope to make him proud of me.

Blessing our son

So here is my husband and our son on our baby boys blessing day. I am so grateful to have a husband that can bless our children. I am very thankful for the priesthood in our lives and the opportunity to have it bless us in our home. I am grateful for the atonement and that because of it I will be able to teach my children about forgiveness and a Father in Heaven who loves them and stands there with open arms beckoning his children to come to him. I am grateful for the gospel in my life and to know that there is life after death and a chance to live with my family forever. The blessing was so beautiful and good. I am grateful for a husband who honestly searches and listens for the spirit to guide him in his life. I hope that my children will always know their Father in Heaven and their value in his eyes.
Here I am with our son.
Below are some pictures from the day.

Mommy's little Prince

Ok so these pictures are totally for my sister who bought this outfit and I needed to document the story before he outgrew it. The story behind this outfit is that when my daughter was born I insisted that I didn't want anything that said princess on it. I know some of you think I am just being silly. Well as much as I tried to stay away from princess my daughter started gravitating towards everything princess. Since I believe that she should be allowed to determine her likes I started giving in and letting her have princess stuff. To which my big sister laughed at me with a big I told you so. So when my son was born she had to get an outfit that says "Mommy's Prince" on it. I just laughed and resigned to fate. So here it is. My cute boy in the outfit his aunt had to buy him.
Seriously I didn't give him a lemon.
But it almost looks like I did.
Here is that smile I missed in his 2 month pictures.
Here are the pretty roses that my husband got me just cause.

2 months old

OK so I can't believe that he is already 2 months old. I especially can't believe that he is already 13 lbs and 25 1/4 inches long. Although surprise shouldn't be the word since his sister to was always fairly tall as well but he has already passed her up on both from when she was 2 months old. He is doing good and is completely healthy. Showing a few signs of colic but all in all a fairly good baby. He smiles a lot(although the pictures don't show it), which totally melts our hearts. So here are a few pictures of our handsome baby boy taken on his 2 month birthday. Enjoy!

He seems a little contemplative in the picture.
And well with the hat this is a great boy picture.
Baby yawns are just too fun.
This one cracks me up he has the thinking pose.
And well I love that he still looks little even if his height and weight suggest otherwise.

Sprinkler Fun!

In hopes of making our grass, or let's just say it "weeds" look greener I turned the sprinkler on for my daughter to play. She had so much fun I had to take pictures and share them with you.

Here she is sitting with her best friend from next door that came over to play in the sprinklers with her.
