I haven't forgotten about the blog I promise!

OK so our desktop is out of commission. We are working on fixing that issue. However because it isn't working I get little computer time to blog these days and more importantly have several pictures I am not able to download because the card reader I use was a part of the desktop. To top it off I am trying to remember where we stashed the cable to read the pictures from the camera to the computer. I know very organised. So I figured that I would update you a little on the last couple weeks and when I get pictures downloaded I will share them all with you.

So last week was a busy one for us. We celebrated my husband's birthday, My sons Birthday, had a doctors appointment for his 1 year check up, General Conference, and Finished off with Easter a few days ago. So I will start from the beginning.

My Husbands Birthday
He decided that he just wanted a nice fun, relaxing day. So we hurried to the store to get the things he wanted for dinner and dropped that off at home and stuck chicken in the Crock pot so that making Chicken Enchiladas would be fast and easy when we got home from playing. We went to A family fun center close by. Since it was my husbands birthday he decided he wanted to play mini golf and my daughter talked him into going on the bumper boats. The mini golf coarse was fun and had the pacific island feel to it. The final hole had a big face that when you got a hole in one it talks and blows smoke through its nose. Well I missed the hole in one. My daughter was after me. She decided to tap the ball to the opening and made sure she got a hole in one. It was cute. This put her directly next to the big face. Once the ball went in we tried to hurry her back to us. She listened like a 3 year year old until the booming voice started talking and then she booked it back to us hiding behind us and peeking around our leg. When she noticed the smoke she started to smile though. My husband then got a hole in one and this time she didn't hide. Next my husband and little girl rode the bumper boats to which they got off thoroughly soaked. My little guy had fun watching and totally wishing that he could ride to.

Baby Boys Birthday and 1 year Doctor's Visit
So for his day we started the day at his sister's dance class. While she was dancing he found the drinking fountain. He also discovered how it works. After pulling him away a few times I decided that I would let him play with the water for a while. Well until he started getting wet. :) Plus it gave me a cute picture. When she was done dancing, we went home where I made frosting and pulled the cakes out of the freezer that I stayed up till 4 in the morning making the previous night. I also called a friend to play with my kids since my husband had to work and it was wonderful because baby boy fell asleep in her arms just watching me make decorate his cake. It was a fun cake designed with the Grasshopper and the Ants theme. Don't worry I have pictures to share once I can download them. I was quite happy with the result. For dinner we went to Chuck E Cheeses. It was a nice halfway point between us and my siblings. Our little guy even said Hi to Chuck E Cheese himself. He also enjoyed his cake. Well actually I think it was more the frosting he enjoyed. All in all it was a fun night. Thank you to all that came.

The next day we went to his doctor's appointment. He measured in the 95 %ile in height at 31 inches and in the 60 %ile in weight at 23 lbs. He is is fully healthy and looking great. He now can say hi, mama, dada, uh oh, waves bye bye, and tries to copy other words we say. I could swear one day I heard him repeat I love you. If you don't take my word for it there were 2 other witnesses. But he hasn't said it since. My husband swears our baby boy told him Happy Birthday Dada. But he was the only one in the room. :) I can't believe how big he is getting. He is such a happy baby and loves to chase his sister around the house whether daddy is holding him or not.

General Conference and Easter
This year General Conference and Easter were in the same weekend. We quite enjoyed conference. They had amazing talks. I loved Pres. Eyering's talk. I also love listening to Pres. Monson. I also loved that so many were about setting an example to teach our children to be better. I loved that several spoke about the meaning of Easter. I am trying to take these talk and apply them into my life so that I can become a better person wife, mother, sister, friend, aunt, and daughter. I am excited to go back and read all the talks in the Ensign.

We also enjoyed meeting up with my husbands family on Saturday for dinner so that my husband can go to the Priesthood Session of Conference with his Dad. While he was there the kids and I spent time with Grandma. It is fun to see her play with my kids. They adore her and I know that she loves them.

Easter morning my daughter and son were excited to find their Easter baskets. During the morning session of Conference, while listening to the talks, we kept our little girl busy by coloring Easter eggs. Between sessions the Easter bunny came and our kids got to have an egg hunt. They were cute. We then got dressed up and took some Easter pictures. Which I will have to also post later. We also thought it was cute that for dinner our daughter thanked Heavenly Father for sending the Easter Bunny to her House. At one point during the day I was looking at my daughter and thinking of how much she has grown. I told my husband it seems like only yesterday we were hoping that we would be able to have a child. So much has happened since. We are so grateful to have our 2 beautiful children. We feel so blessed to have them in our life. They are our little angels and hope that we will be the parents that they need us to be. They teach us so much daily. Is there ever a time that you can't remember each moment of their birth? I hope not. They are so beautiful and I want to be worthy to have them in my life for an Eternity. I wonder some days if that is not how our Father in Heaven feels. I can't imagine not having them in my life and I know that Heavenly Father loves them more than me. I know that he wants them to return home to him as well. After all isn't that the purpose of the Atonement? To return home to him. I am so thankful for a Savior who was willing to atone for my sins. Who was willing to die so that I might live. I know he lives. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday and this update. We will get pictures up as soon as we can.

11 Months Old and Playing with Big Sister

He is 11 months old and playing with his big sister. He is growing up so fast and it is scary to think that a year is only a few weeks away. He is standing tall and so close to walking. He takes a few steps here and there, walking is just around the corner. He is a happy baby who really just thinks he is big and doesn't understand why he can't do everything he sees his sister do.

He also got his first haircut. Isn't he handsome! This is what they gave us. I changed some of the info though where the names are so the real one does have the actual info. The black square is where they tape his hair. We got about an inch of hair off.
Here he is having fun driving and pushing buttons. While his cool big sister is having fun pushing him around. Seems like a metaphor doesn't it? :)
Quick video of their play.

Zoo Passes

So this year as a family Christmas/Birthday present we got a zoo pass. We figured it would give us a year of family time that is something we only had to worry about price only once. We also got an Aquarium pass for the same reason. Here is our first trip this year to the Zoo.

This little toy camera cost a couple bucks and it kept her busy for a while. In fact at one point she insisted that she needed it to take a picture of the Apes. It was fun to watch her so excited to see everything and pretend to take pictures.
Isn't she cute with her blue hat and red sweater.
On the Merry Go Round. At first she was a little timid but here she is starting to relax and have fun.
Daddy and Baby Boy
If she looks sad it is because she just lost her ice cream cone.
Wow look one with me in it. Not overly flattering but we thought it would be a fun picture.
How Do You Measure Up.
Below are just some random pictures. Here is a large nest in a tree. A little curious what kind of bird made this nest. Any guesses?
The Baby Elephant with it's mommy.
I forget what kind of primate this is. But they are tiny little monkey type creatures.
The next 2 are for fun. We let our 3 year old little girl use the camera for a moment and get some pictures with her perspective.

Fun pics of the kids last month!

We didn't have too many exciting things happen in the last month. But here are a few highlights.

Here she is trying to help him stand
The Party Hat she desperately wanted to make. Daddy had a box that had a picture of a party hat and she got it in her head that she "needed" to make a party hat. Luckily mommy had a few supplies on hand and this is what we came up with. We made a couple extras and she took them next door for a little tea party with her friends. I had fun playing with this picture with an online editing website called Picnik. It was fun. I just wish that I could use a few of the extra features, but sadly that would cost money.
Oooh happy boy. He has decided that he is big enough to feed himself. Here he is eating some blended chicken noodle soup that we had for dinner. I will post a video below for those interested. Lets just say he had a lot of fun. Ah, these are the moments.
Messy face!
She decided one night that she needed to lay in daddies lap and arranged the pillows just so and grabbed a blanket then pretended to fall asleep. We thought she was cute.
Here's video of him feeding himself for the first time. He is so proud of himself. I love how he just dips the spoon in to get food.

Circus

We went to the circus last night with our next door neighbors. We were able to get some free tickets from the local video rental place and figured why not. For the first half of the show both of our children were memorized by what was going on. Seriously, my son didn't move. I began to think maybe he was asleep. But no, I had my husband look at him and sure enough his eyes were wide open and watching what was going on. Intermission was fun they had some rides and a slide. Our daughter wasn't too happy that we told her that she couldn't ride the big slide. And from that point on for her the show was done. So for most of it we had fun. Here are a few highlights from the show.

during intermission she got to ride the pony rides. The only thing that she was able to do. She had fun and could ride as long as she wanted. I wasn't able to get a clear photo though because I was holding the baby. But here is the best one.
There was this act where a woman juggled several different things with her feet upside down.
This guy was scary. Here he is blindfolded. There were a couple close calls where he came close to falling off. Once while jump roping and once while blindfolded. The phrase do not try this at home comes to mind.
This bear was cute and really not something I want to get a bear hug from. But here the bear is pushing this car with the little girl in it.
here our little girl is sitting with her best friend. They had to share a seat. Aren't they cute.

10 Months Old

Here he is 10 months old. I can't believe how big he is. He stands on his own now. He crawls super fast everywhere and into everything. He is so funny and loving. Here are some of the pictures that I have taken of him throughout this last month. The top 3 are the most recent. I took them tonight.

Here he looks so handsome.
Reflection
Here he is in his outfit he got from his Great Grandma for Christmas.
I love this picture. The lines are great.
Here he is sleeping. I couldn't pass this picture up.
