Easter 2012

Easter was simple this year.  Mostly out of necessity since I have not been feeling great through this pregnancy.  I liked having it simple as well.  I think even the kids liked it being less crazy although my daughter felt that there needed to be more than one Easter Egg hunt and so when we got home from the neighborhood hunt she decided to hide her eggs and then her and her brother looked for them.   I feel so blessed to have my children and grateful for this new child about to be born into our family.  Hope you enjoy the pictures.

3 Year Old Little Man

He is 3 now. He is a big tease. If you say I love you to him he always responds love me with a smile. He call everyone he loves his best friend and gives the best cuddles. And when he is sad crying he will tell you in case you didn't know. He still loves trains and in the words of my husband, "He lives to own every train in the continental US". And besides trains you will find him playing with anything that has wheels. He longs to go to school with his big sister and follows her around when she is home. He no longer needs any services to help him with sensory issues and in the last few months has become a much calmer kid. He is our little man and we have no idea what we would ever do without him.

Here he is patiently waiting to blow out his candle.
Blowing out the candle
Here is three years old and playing with his trucks he got from Grandma, Grandpa, and Great Grandma. Every night for a week he would park them in the boxes they came in and sleep on the floor surrounded by them. He just wanted to be close to them.
The smaller fancy truck under his leg was from Great Grandma. She sent it in the mail and he patiently waited till his birthday to open his present from her. When he came into our room that morning I said Happy Birthday and the first thing out of his mouth with a big smile was open my present. He called it his firefighter truck and just loved playing with it all day. The Firefighter truck was from Grandma and Grandpa and only a few days earlier while looking through the store he became attached to a firetruck that he wanted so bad. We had to leave it there but he cried for 20 minutes straight. I think Grandma and Grandpa must have just known that was what he wanted.

Hubby's Birthday

Because of complications during this pregnancy I have not cooked very much. However I saw this recipe for a Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Cheesecake and knew it was meant to be for my husband. After the work it took I was glad that he enjoyed it. Which is good because he got to eat a majority of it. Though the kids were happy to help when they could. The kids also "helped" me make him breakfast in bed.
PS. We also found out on his birthday that he will be the daddy of another little girl.

Water Fun

Due to unreasonably warm spring weather the kids felt they needed a day in the sprinklers. Of coarse since this day we have also have rain and snow. No sprinklers those days though.

Kindergarten Orientation

So we got to learn a little about kindergarten and meet the teachers last month. At first when we got there she was "Shy". She held onto us for dear life. We promised her that she will see some of her friends from church. Once we were done with the opening ceremonies which really consisted of the Principal and PTA President talking to us. As well as filling out paperwork for them to know about our kid and a questionnaire to help them know where we are willing to volunteer at school. We were divided and sent to 3 different rooms. Then she saw a friend and was pretty social from then on. She loved to answer question whether or not the teacher asked a question or not. She informed the teacher that she knows how to read IHOP and other things that make her smart. I realized I forgot to put talkative on the paper when describing her personality. She is so excited and ready to go to school. I think she will be fine and she is pretty good at learning rules and loves to learn new things. She is growing up too fast for me.

Museum

So back in February I took the kids to a museum while my wife was at a baby shower. It was a lot of fun. I was expecting to see just dinosaurs so I was quite surprised to see a room at the beginning with all sorts of physics stuff.

It's hard to tell from the picture but the circular disk in the middle was spinning and you could put various objects on it and see what would happen. Personally I thought it was cool seeing the pool balls spinning on the disk.
Here is another one where you would push the buttons and it would show how the different parts of the leg are used to push the pedals of a bicycle. After spending some time in here we went to the regular part of the museum. It was fun walking around. I'm not sure how much the kids liked seeing the dinosaurs but they really liked the hands on stuff. Here you could build a dinosaur.

Then they had an area with a bunch of magnetic puzzle pieces.

This is were we spent most of our time. Water would flow down to a drain. There was a lot of sand in the play area that you could use to alter or stop the flow of water. My daughter worked on stopping the water while my son played with the little dinosaur toys.

Right before the exit they had an area where you could uncover dinosaur bones using small brushes.
