Sidewalk Art Festival

So we went to a sidewalk art festival close to where we live earlier this year. I was impressed with the detail that I saw in the artwork. There were people there still drawing and finishing up their work. It was nice to see how people start their work and see the process behind the artwork.

This picture is so good that when I cropped out the sidewalk it is almost hard to tell that it was done on the sidewalk.
Some Artists working on their masterpieces.
Ok I thought this one was cute!
My little girl is a fan of "Hello Kitty" these days. Here she is getting her face painted.
Aren't they 2 cute kids!
I was surprised that this was the only 3D picture we found there. I think it also turned out better in the picture than real life but pretty impressive all the same.

Checking out the Art work
This reminded me of my niece who is quite the artist herself. I have watched her draw dragons for years now and curious to see what she could do on sidewalk with some chalk. Maybe a new challenge for her.
I am impressed but the detail and also the thought behind this one. As a mom you never can take your eyes off of your children. You watch them grow and they always seem little. You never want to see them hurt or sad. You always want to see them happy even when there are times telling them no is the best thing for them. It breaks your heart to know that for their own good you have to tell them no. But it would break your heart more if you did and they had to learn the lesson later under harder circumstances. SO ya this is what comes to my mind looking at this picture.
This is cool because you get to see what the goal is and the outline as well as the detail that is already starting to show up.
Contemplative
We saw minions and couldn't help get a picture of our little minion. Whenever we watch "Despicable Me" and he hears the Minions laugh he does the exact same laugh. It is cute.
After taking a picture of her brother and seeing "Tangled" she had to have her picture too.
Harold and the Purple Crayon
We saw this picture and thought of a Sister in Law who is a huge fan of Audrey Hepburn.
Finding Nemo
Ballerina Dancer
Getting their turn to draw on the sidewalk. There was a section just for them to do this.
He found a rock but that is his finished drawing on the sidewalk.
When it was all over we went to a Hawaiian Barbecue place for dinner. SO YUMMY!

Having Fun!!!

Happy Easter 2011

We had a wonderful Easter. We hope that you as well had a wonderful Easter. We are so grateful to a Savior who suffered bled and died that we might be able to repent and someday return home to a loving father in heaven. We are grateful to have the knowledge that because of Christ we can be together forever. I had taken so many pictures and edited them only to have to many to narrow down so you get a lot. Hope you enjoy!
The problem of not having someone behind the camera is that the kids don't know when to smile. Next time maybe my husband and I should have straight faces and them we can have an old fashioned photograph. I still love the looks on their faces though.
Beautiful girl!
Pictures with daddy my daughter was happy to do so my son was done since I started with him and we were outside. He just wanted to play.
Handsome boy!

Mommy/daughter date party

One friend that lives close by planned a Mommy daughter date night. We did all the girly things. Hair, nails, jewelry, food and watched Tangled. My friend did so much work to make this a fun night. I am amazed at her talents. Mostly the ability to plan a fun night for a bunch of little girls and mommies alike. She even decorated her home really cute for this as well. All we had to do was bring a treat to share.

When we walked in this is what we saw. She had made huge tissue flowers and hung them from her ceiling. It was very pretty.
Then she had stations here is how she set up the nail station.
These are the silk flower hair clips and ponytail holders she made. She said that she stayed up till 1 in the morning making these. She is amazing.
My little girl eating some food while I did her hair. She enjoyed her cucumber sandwich and her chips and salsa.
Once she was done eating she got to do my hair. She used the detangler in my hair. Ok well one spot of my hair was soaked. But she felt so big doing it.
Then we did each others nails. I let her do some stickers and clear nail polish on me.
Here she is making a bracelet for me. I wore it the next day to church which made her very happy.
All the little girls brought their favorite pillow to use while watching a movie. It was a large pillow pet farm. All the moms had a good laugh.
Here we are at the end of the night. I think she had fun. She is wearing the necklace and bracelet I made for her. And I am wearing her bracelet she made for me, although you can only see a few beads. I love this girl.
