Ice Skating and January pics

Our oldest has been begging to go Ice skating for a while and the local mall has Ice skating has a rink where you can skate and rent skates all for the price of $4(adults) and $2(kids).  So my husband braved the ice while I held our youngest and took pictures.
Some pictures of the show fountain next to the rink.

When our son got cold I left my husband with our oldest girl and they continued to skate and I took our two youngest into the nice buildings with fireplaces to stay warm.  It was so very nice there.

I love how close my kids are and how much they love each other.
Sitting in the snow with Daddy.
Our daughter with the Snowman she made all by herself.  She did a pretty good job.  He fell over by the next morning.  I think the deer tried to enjoy the celery arms.

Freezing Rain

A rare occurrence here where we are.  My friend took this picture and I thought it was beautiful.  Freezing rain created quite the stir around here between delayed school days and parents trying to drive kids to school.  I think if this happens again they will cancel school but it was a learning experience for sure.

Some days are Just SNOW FUN!!!!

And this is how a sled hill is formed. Yes that is a snort in the background so equally embarrassing for me as for my husband.  And this video was with his permission.

New Years Day

On New Years Day we visited with my family.  My Sister who lives in AZ that I don't see very often came up for a visit and it was nice to see her.  Here are a few pictures that I liked from the day.

6 years old

So our oldest is 6 years old.  Here are a few pictures from her birthday a little over a month ago and some pictures that I thought were cute of her.

Here she is 3 months old
Here she is now.  Man she has grown up and is as beautiful as ever.
So for her birthday we met Grandma and Grandpa for lunch and to go bowling.  Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for such a fun day.  She had so much fun.  Our son however did not like bowling so much.  I think he was a little overstimulated and not sure of the new experience.
After using the kid ramp for the bowling ball a few times she chose to throw it on her own.  She also bowled for her brother.  Ironically she got the exact same score for both and came ahead of her Mommy and Grandma.
Our son liked hiding here and even found a drawer and tried to hide his bowling shoes in the drawer so he couldn't bowl.
 So proud of herself.
 Me and our baby.
 And the wind up......
I got a picture with him smiling.  Of coarse 2 seconds after taking this picture he was upset at me for taking his picture.
I am impressed with my husbands way of getting speed and gently setting the ball in the lane with little noise.  When I throw the ball no matter how much I try it always makes a sound that says I am not experienced in bowling.
 Grandpa is a serious bowler.
My son saw the dog and ran up and hugged him.  He was happy to see the dog even if he was not happy to bowl.
She wanted to hug him but when she got up there she turned as if to sit in his lap.
 Our baby and her Grandparents.
She wanted a Barbie Ice Cream Birthday Cake all year since she saw a picture of it once at DQ.  When we got there they had nothing Barbie.  So we bought the cake and had them write Happy Birthday on it and then went to Target and got a small Barbie to put on top.  Since we don't buy presents on Birthdays we will gladly do this for them.  In our house Birthdays are all about the experience and time as a family.  I tried to talk her into a cake that I could make at home but this is what she wanted more than anything.  After all you kill two birds with one stone this way.  Ice cream and Cake in One.
 The Birthday Girl Picture.
Here she is a month before her birthday.  She loves to be Pretty.  I love the innocence and happiness in her face.  I hope to raise her to always be confident and feel loved and safe.
We built a sled hill which she looked forward to all year.  This is just a couple nights before her birthday and since there was no school the next day we let them play for a little bit.
